Visa Formalities

GSR-24 TRAVEL ADVISORY.

 

1.          Delegates requiring visas to enter Uganda should apply for visas a fortnight before the expected date of arrival. Details of visa application requirements may be obtained from the official Uganda Immigration website (www.visas.immigration.go.ug). Visa requirements for ordinary passport holders are;

a.          Invitation for conference - These will be provided after the confirmation of registration for the GSR 24.  Delegates can also send this confirmation to visaGSR24@ucc.co.ug to get their cover letter.

b.          Passport copy (bio-data page with at-least 6 months validity)

c.           Yellow fever vaccination certificate issued at least 10 days before the travel date.

d.          Recent passport size photograph.

e.           Online payment of 50 USD.

ü  Delegates are encouraged to strictly apply for their visas through the Official Uganda Government visa portal and avoid online visa agents who charge exorbitant fees and cause delays in processing.

ü  The size of the required visa application documents for upload should range between 5KB and 200KB, using either JPEG or PNG formats.

 

2.          Applicants will receive an approval notification which they will print and travel with as travel authorization.

 

3.          On arrival at the point of entry, the visa stickers will be personalized and endorsed in their passports, delegates are reminded to input their details (names, date of birth) exactly as they appear in their passports to avoid complications during visa issuance.

 

4.          Upon arrival at the port of entry, delegates from visa exempt countries will be required to present;

a.   An invitation or conference letter.

b.   A passport (bio-data page with at-least 6 months validity) and

c.    Yellow fever vaccination card issued at least 10 days before the travel date.  

5.          All holders of Diplomatic and Official/Service Passports from visa prone countries will be issued with gratis visas. They, however, still need to apply for visas online at the official Uganda Immigration website www.visas.immigration.go.ug

 

Their visa stickers shall also be endorsed into their passports upon arrival at the point of entry.

Requirements

a.          Invitation letter – Cover letter – These will be provided after the confirmation of registration for the GSR 24.  Delegates can also send this confirmation to visaGSR24@ucc.co.ug to get their cover letter.

b.          Diplomatic or official passport biodata and cover page with at-least 6 months’ validity.

 

6.          All UN passport holders are exempt from payment of visa fees.

 

7.          Successful online visa applicants can have their visas personalized and endorsed in their passports before they arrive at Uganda’s points of entry at any of the following Uganda Missions abroad;

a.          London

b.          Washington

c.           Ottawa

d.          New Delhi

e.           Beijing

f.            Guangzhou

g.           Brussels

h.          Pretoria

i.            Abuja

j.            Mogadishu

k.          Copenhagen

l.            Riyadh

m.         Ankara

n.          Paris

o.           Berlin

9.          The Ugandan online visa process typically demands a 72-hour turnaround time, its strongly recommended however, that delegates start their visa application process at least 15 days before their scheduled departure, to accommodate any unforeseen circumstances that might arise.
